Brief and project description
The project is implemented within the framework of the Sustainable Transition of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH SuTra) initiative, supported by the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI). SEI is an international non-profit research institute dedicated to advancing environmental sustainability and sustainable development through high-quality research, knowledge generation, tools, and capacity building. Its work bridges science, policy, and practice, contributing to tangible environmental and socio-economic improvements. Through its global network of centres and partnerships, SEI promotes transparent, inclusive, and evidence-based approaches to sustainable transition.
This project establishes an integrated monitoring and enforcement system that combines digital tools, field equipment, and citizen engagement. The system includes a web platform and mobile application for anonymous reporting, real-time monitoring through sensors and cameras, GIS-based spatial visualization, data analysis, and decision-support functionalities. By enabling accurate detection, reporting, and verification of illegal activities, the system supports effective penalty enforcement and evidence-based strategic planning.
Remote designed and implemented an integrated digital system consisting of a web-based platform and mobile application, combining citizen reporting mechanisms, real-time sensor and camera monitoring, GIS-based spatial visualization, and analytical decision-support tools. The system enabled anonymous citizen reporting through structured digital forms with geolocation and photo evidence, while simultaneously integrating data streams from 12 VOC sensors and 12 solar-powered surveillance cameras installed at critical locations.
